Recently, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. unveiled SmartThings Station, an affordable and user-friendly hub for smart homes that also doubles as a fast charging station.
Users can easily set up SmartThings Station, which has the simplicity they expect from Samsung, and is compatible with a variety of smart home goods, including Matter devices. The SmartThing can be used to automate many aspects of the home environment, creating routines that make lives easier and contribute to reducing energy waste by, for example, making it simple to turn off lights and appliances.
“Having a smarter home shouldn’t be complicated or expensive. So we wanted to create SmartThings Station as a simple, reliable and expandable smart home hub,”
said Jaeyeon Jung, Executive Vice President and Head of SmartThings, Device Platform Center at Samsung Electronics
“The number of devices in a connected home continues to grow, especially in light of the recent Matter standard launch. We’re proud to play a role in making it easier to embrace this exciting technology.”
A Smarter Home, With Minimal Effort
Samsung’s SmartThings Station is simple to set up. When an user turns on the device for the first time, pop-up messages will show on their Samsung Galaxy smartphone to help them through the connecting procedure smoothly. Users can also choose to effectively onboard devices by just scanning a QR code with their smartphone camera.
Intuitively Adapts to Users Daily Routines
Thermostats, lights, and power outlets are just a few of the things that a smart home hub can help connect to other devices connected to the smart home server so they can all work together to create a harmonious atmosphere. Instead of forcing users to manually manage individual devices, SmartThings Station makes it simple to automate preset routines that have been built with the SmartThings mobile app.
Users can initiate a SmartThings app-created routine by pressing the Smart Button on the SmartThings Station. For example, when it’s time to go to bed, a short tap could start a sleep routine that turns out the lights, closes the blinds, and lowers the temperature. If a movie night is planned, a movie routine could include turning on the TV and dimming the lights. When you leave the house, the SmartThings Station can preserve energy by turning off electrical outlets and unneeded equipment and activating a security system. Users could also prefer a gaming routine that can activate certain TV and lighting settings as well as enable ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode.
Customers can activate up to three distinct routines by pressing the Smart Button with a short, long, or double press. Routines can also be initiated using the SmartThings app, whether users are at home or away.
Find and Manage Your Devices Around Home More Accurately
SmartThings Station is also connected with Samsung’s SmartThings Find, an asset tracking service that is rapidly expanding. It aids users in the recovery of missing devices by ringing your nearby phone several times, making it easier to locate.
SmartThings Station, that also works as an always-on device scanner, helps Samsung Galaxy users in monitoring the locations of their registered devices, (smartphones, tablets, watches, and earbuds to personal belongings such as keys or a wallet) with a Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag+ device attached. SmartThings Station will notify users the position of connected smart devices or tags throughout the home by scanning for them on a regular basis, and will send an alert to the user’s smartphone when a tag or device leaves or returns home.
A Fast Charging Pad That Fits Perfectly in a Smart Home
The SmartThings Station is also a powerful wireless charging station with a 15W maximum output. Fast charging is a fantastic addition to a Smart Home hub since it meshes so well with daily routines. Users can choose to get a notice when charging is finished, allowing users to continue play where they left off or charge another device.
