- For two consecutive years, Samsung achieved double-digit growth in brand value
Samsung Electronics was named one of the top five Best Global Brands 2022 by Interbrand, a global brand consultancy.
Interbrand releases a list of the top 100 global brands every year and this year Samsung’s brand value was estimated at USD 87.7 billion, growing 17% from USD 74.6 billion in 2021, placing the company in fifth place for the third consecutive year.
The accomplishment was made possible by Samsung’s improved financial performance, which is now near pre-pandemic levels, and higher memory demand spurred on by a rise in data usage. Samsung saw a 20% increase in brand value in 2021 over 2020, and this year’s growth is still in double-digit.
Samsung debuted in the top 10 list in 2012, coming in at number nine. Since then, the company has managed to climb the rankings each year, moving up to sixth place in 2017 and fifth place in 2020.
“Samsung Electronics was able to record two consecutive years of double-digit growth in brand value, all thanks to the support from our global customers,” said YH Lee, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Electronics. “In return, the entire company will work together as a team to provide a better and more satisfying customer experience.”
Various Factors Evaluated by Interbrand to Build the Samsung Brand Value
To promote product synergy and provide consumers with a higher level of experience, Samsung Electronics combined its SET Division and established the Device eXperience Division by the end of 2021. Furthermore, to improve its multi-device connection experience, Samsung has also introduced the Customer eXperience-Multi Device Experience Center.
In addition to these measures, Samsung has included SmartThings into all of its product categories, fostering an open ecosystem and a multi-device experience. Customers are also given the information they need by SmartThings to maximise the use of both Samsung and other products they may already own.
Additionally, Samsung’s Future Generation Lab was established to foster genuine debates about the activities of the next generation. The lab’s findings have been applied to products and marketing activities.
Aside from innovative products focused on customer experiences, persistent investment in emerging technologies like as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, automotive, and robotics has also contributed to Samsung’s success.
