The Kuantan 188 International Extreme Challenge (KIEC), which is the first challenge event since reopening early this year, and Pesta Kuantan 188 will be held at the second-tallest tower in Malaysia — Kuantan 188.

In commemoration of Merdeka, a group of individuals will base jump from the KIEC, while in the meantime, Pesta Kuantan will take place from 27 August to 4 September 2022.

The launch will be presided over by YB Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, and YB Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Johari bin Haji Hussain, Chairman of the Pahang State Human Resources, Youth, Sports, and Non-Governmental Committee.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports will continue to support events like KIEC and collaborate closely with Kuantan 188 to encourage local youth organisations to choose the Kuantan 188 as their location of choice in order to promote adventure and outdoor sports.

The KIEC’s main focus will be a group of volunteer base jumpers who will drop 104 metres from the skydeck. On 30 August 2022, there will be 65 leaps from numerous jumpers holding the Kuantan 188, Pahang, and Malaysian flags to commemorate Malaysia’s 65th year of independence. Also, one interesting candidate who stands out among all the jumpers, is Encik Jamaluddin Ismail, 67, from Mentakab, Pahang, he is by far the country’s oldest base jumper.

Aside from Malaysian base jumpers, participants will come from the United States, Singapore, and Indonesia. Paintball, drop zone, kickboxing, outdoor zumba, and hammock zone will also be conducted at the same location, while children may enjoy activities at Kuantan 188’s Kids Club and Zipline. The event will also showcase local brands with a nine-day pop-up shop kiosk to promote local talent and local merchandise.

Furthermore, on 3 September 2022, Kuantan 188 will host a concert featuring Man Bai and Joe Flizzow, among others, to commemorate the birthdays of KDYMM Yang Di Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, which were on 30 July 2022 and 5 August 2022 respectively.

Tickets for the concert will be on sale via www.gotifi.com, with four categories available for purchase – TIER 1 (RM188), TIER 2 (RM138), TIER 3 (RM88) and TIER 4 (RM58).
