Samsung has announced a beta program for the latest version of Bixby, redesigned to function as a more conversational device agent in One UI 8.5. The update makes managing Galaxy devices more intuitive by allowing users to interact using natural, everyday language — reducing the time and effort needed to adjust settings and complete tasks.

According to Samsung, the enhanced Bixby is built to create smoother, more natural interactions, helping users control their devices without needing to remember exact feature names or menu structures.

Smarter, More Intuitive Device Control

With the updated Bixby, users can simply describe what they want. For example, saying, “I don’t want the screen to time out while I’m still looking at it,” will prompt Bixby to activate the appropriate setting automatically — without manual navigation.

It can also respond contextually. If a user asks, “Why is my phone screen always on in my pocket?” Bixby can identify relevant settings, such as accidental touch protection, and offer immediate solutions. By understanding intent rather than specific commands, Bixby minimizes trial and error, making Galaxy devices easier to use — even for those unfamiliar with certain features.

Real-Time Web Search Integration

Beyond device controls, Bixby now supports real-time web search results directly within its interface. Users can request live information — such as travel recommendations or hotel searches — without being redirected to an external browser.

For instance, asking “Find me hotels in Seoul that have swimming pools for kids” will display relevant search results seamlessly inside Bixby, creating a more consistent and focused user experience.

Availability

The latest Bixby update is rolling out with One UI 8.5 in selected markets, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the U.S., with broader expansion planned.
