In a bold move to supercharge Malaysia’s fintech ecosystem, Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has launched the PayNet Fintech Hub, a national initiative designed to connect fintech startups with capital, mentorship, and market access. Positioned as the country’s first dedicated fintech accelerator and community, the Hub will serve as a vital springboard for innovation, digital economy expansion, and financial inclusion.
Unlocking Growth for Malaysian Fintech Startups
With Malaysia pushing to solidify its position as a regional fintech leader, the PayNet Fintech Hub offers a dual-track programme — Community and Catalyst — designed to nurture high-potential fintech startups from early growth through global expansion.
Key Features of the Fintech Hub Community:
- Access to a curated ecosystem of fintech founders, investors, and corporate partners
- 450+ hours of mentorship from proven entrepreneurs and industry experts
- Over RM4.6 million in combined financial and service benefits, including:
- RM1 million+ in PayNet credits
- RM600,000+ in legal, HR, finance, and research support
- RM3 million in cloud credits
- Sponsored co-working space
These benefits aim to reduce startup burn rate, sharpen strategies, and accelerate funding and scalability.
Global Ambitions: Catalyst Programme
Top-performing members of the Community will be invited to join the Catalyst track, a fully sponsored, 10-week accelerator programme in partnership with Imperial College London. The programme includes:
- Direct mentorship from Imperial faculty and leading global fintechs
- A one-week immersion in London
- A final demo day in front of global VCs and corporate partners
Catalyst members will also benefit from PayNet’s expanded collaboration with AWS, gaining access to cutting-edge cloud services and the upcoming Fintech Innovation Sandbox through the AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region.
A Game-Changer for Malaysia’s Digital Economy
Farhan Ahmad, CEO of PayNet, stated:
“The PayNet Fintech Hub is a decisive step forward in building a vibrant, collaborative fintech ecosystem. It addresses the most critical growth challenges startups face — access to capital, mentorship, and markets — and places Malaysia at the forefront of financial innovation.”
By aligning local fintech talent with global expertise and robust infrastructure, the Hub is expected to catalyse real outcomes for the country’s digital economy and drive inclusive prosperity.
