Samsung Electronics introduced its latest innovation in smart home appliances during the Southeast Asia Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ Tech Forum 2024 held on 8 October. The event spotlighted the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™, a state-of-the-art all-in-one washer-dryer designed to enhance convenience and energy savings while offering cutting-edge laundry technology powered by artificial intelligence.
The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ is set to create a new category in household appliances by combining intelligent washing and drying functions in one machine. The star feature of the event, the appliance integrates advanced Heat Pump Technology that uses air to dry clothes instead of traditional methods, leading to significant reductions in energy consumption.
Jongwon Park, Head of Washing Machine Module Lab at Samsung, demonstrated the Heat Pump Drying Technology that delivers powerful and efficient drying, while Stella Jeong, Samsung’s Living Product Planner, showcased how users can easily manage their laundry via the AI Home, a 7-inch LCD display integrated into the washer-dryer.
One of the key highlights of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ is its AI Wash & Dry function, which intelligently adjusts washing and drying settings based on sensor data monitoring the weight, dirt level, and fabric type of the clothes. This ensures optimal performance in each cycle while promoting water and energy savings.
The appliance also features AI Energy Mode, accessible via the SmartThings App, which optimizes energy usage by analyzing usage patterns and environmental conditions. With AI Energy Mode activated, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ can reduce energy consumption by up to 60% during washing and up to 30% during drying, making it a game-changer in energy-efficient home appliances.
Designed for practicality, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ boasts a 25kg capacity, making it ideal for larger households or users looking to do more laundry in a single load.
