The Olympic Games in Paris were a spectacular celebration, bringing together nearly 10,000 athletes from 206 countries and millions of fans for the “Games Wide Open.” Thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy AI, barriers were broken down, and the Games-time experience was enhanced like never before.
From the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition, gifted to athletes competing in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 to interactive experiences at Samsung’s Olympic™ rendezvous pop-up events, Samsung’s innovative technology fostered meaningful connections among athletes and fans in Paris every day.
One standout feature, Galaxy AI’s Interpreter on the new Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, allowed for real-time translation during face-to-face conversations using the dual screens. This feature was a game-changer for athletes, volunteers, and visitors, helping them communicate seamlessly across languages.
“I travel a lot, and sometimes there is a language barrier,” said Wilma Anna Helena Murto, a Finnish athlete and Team Samsung Galaxy member, who tested the Interpreter at the Olympic™ rendezvous. Italian skateboarder Alessandro Mazzara added, “I will use it for sure,” highlighting the convenience for frequent travelers.
Fans in Paris also embraced the technology, with many experiencing it firsthand at Samsung’s pop-up locations. Josefine Christoffersen, a Swedish visitor, and Siqi Chen, a student from China, both expressed how helpful and innovative the translation feature was during their time at the Games.
Samsung promoter Kenny Goma, who has been engaging with visitors at the Champs-Elysees pop-up since May, noted that the cover screen feature, which displays translations even without network connectivity, was particularly impressive to visitors.
Volunteers also benefited from Galaxy AI, using the Interpreter feature to communicate with visitors and fellow volunteers, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable Olympic experience. Emmanuel Mantilla Jr., a volunteer from the Philippines, shared how the tool made a significant difference in his interactions with French-speaking colleagues.
