Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has officially become Manchester United’s new principal shirt partner for both the men’s and women’s teams with the launch of the new home kit for the 2024/25 season, prominently featuring the Snapdragon® brand.
This agreement extends the existing strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, with the Snapdragon logo also appearing on the away and third kits. Snapdragon processors, found in over 3 billion devices globally, enable premium experiences across smartphones, next-generation PCs, extended and virtual reality glasses, gaming, wearables, and cars.
The new Manchester United home shirt, presented by Adidas, was unveiled today, just weeks before the men’s first team will wear it during their pre-season tour in Europe and the US. This includes a match against Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium for the Snapdragon Cup in San Diego on July 31.
The launch video, featuring Manchester United legend Eric Cantona, celebrates the emotion, creativity, and passion he embodied as a player, aiming to bring these qualities to life for fans through the collaboration with Snapdragon. The video offers the first look at the Snapdragon brand on a Manchester United shirt, with the away and third kits set to be released later in July.
As part of the 2024/25 season kit unveiling, fans can access an augmented reality (AR) experience by scanning the Snapdragon logo on the front of the kit. Developed by Snapdragon, this AR experience will transport fans onto the pitch at Old Trafford and provide exclusive Manchester United content throughout the season.
Jean-Claude Blanc, Manchester United CEO, commented: “The launch of our new home kit is always an exciting moment before the start of each season, especially this year as we welcome Snapdragon as our new principal shirt partner. While the shirt will be the most visible symbol of our collaboration, we are excited to use Snapdragon’s processors to create groundbreaking experiences for fans worldwide, enhancing their engagement with the football club they love. We always strive to push the boundaries of what’s possible, and partnering with a company at the forefront of innovation is thrilling.”
Don McGuire, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Qualcomm Incorporated, added: “We are thrilled to expand our existing collaboration with Manchester United and see the Snapdragon brand on the Manchester United kit. With 1.1 billion passionate fans globally, Manchester United is one of the most celebrated names in sport. As the Club’s new front-of-shirt partner, we aim to elevate the Snapdragon brand, increasing awareness and understanding of Snapdragon’s role in powering amazing experiences across billions of devices.”
