Scoot, the renowned low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), celebrated a significant milestone with the commencement of operations for its first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. The inaugural flights took off to the captivating destinations of Krabi and Hat Yai, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Scoot’s journey.
The launch event, held at Singapore Changi Airport, was honored by the presence of Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, as the Guest of Honour. Aviation partners, alongside local and regional media, joined in the festivities to witness this historic moment.
Attendees were treated to an exclusive preview of the E190-E2 aircraft’s interior, featuring 112 seats in a spacious 2-2 single class configuration, with a standard seat pitch of 29 inches. The aircraft’s larger cabin windows and modern amenities promise passengers a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience. Notably, the E190-E2 stands out as the industry’s quietest and most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft, embodying Scoot’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
CEO Leslie Thng expressed his gratitude to partners and staff for their dedication in ensuring a successful entry into service. He emphasized the E190-E2’s modern operating capabilities and fuel efficiency as key factors driving Scoot’s decision to expand its fleet with this new-generation aircraft. Thng confidently stated that the E190-E2 would bolster Scoot’s regional presence, improve connectivity to non-metro destinations, and elevate the overall travel experience for customers.
The inaugural flights to Krabi and Hat Yai offer travelers the opportunity to explore two distinct yet equally enchanting destinations.
