Previously we have reviewed the Galaxy A55 and I have to say, the phone has alot to offer besides gaming, daily use, social media and productivity at a compelling price.
And now lets explore on the Galaxy A55 and what Samsung Knox can do for you. This article is also applicable for Galaxy A35 as well, as all the features are pretty much the same.
Knox Vault
So what’s a Knox Vault ? It is basically an isolated subsystem that sits on it’s own, and it’s primary function is to protect your personal sensitive information such as passwords, pin, and codes separated, secured so that in an event of an attack, like hacking intervention, the hacker would not be able to access even deep in to collect all the sensitive information that is being stored. This ensured your activities such as banking or even social media login credentials remain safe.
Even in an event that you lose your phone, and someone were attempt to hard reset the phone, Find Your Mobile will take place over the session and will always request the owner’s credentials first in order to proof that is the original user. This prevents the reuse of the phone, rendering no further usage unless unlocked and verified by the original user while this prevented brute force of accessing data resides inside the phone.
The Auto Blocker
Now, let’s examine the Auto Blocker feature. It serves as an important protective feature, although it is distinct from Knox Vault. Nevertheless, this does not impact its capacity to assist users in safeguarding their mobile devices. Furthermore, it has been enhanced and includes exceptional safety features. Auto Blocker main strength lies in its ability to automatically detect and prohibit applications from unapproved sources. This is the same as iOS not allowing IPA file format installed unless it is signed and verified.
If Auto Blocker identifies a questionable installation source on your phone, it will activate a block to prevent the installation from proceeding. While your phone is connected for charging with other phones or computers, it will still conduct security checks to stop harmful installations. Users are at a significantly increased risk of malware when using software in a public place or on a computer. Users can securely access external sources using the Auto Blocker feature.
The Secure Folder
The Secure Folder is basically another place that separates between what you normally use everyday, like files or images, any form of files, just that the Secure Folder provides another additional layer of strong protection that only the owner with the proper authentication can access it with PIN or Password, which is again it is also stored and secured with Knox vault.
If the password for Secure Folder is not the same as the one for the lock screen, the user essentially has a double lock. Knox Vault also offers the user strong double protection, and most importantly, both of your password data is kept within Knox Vault. Even the most sophisticated decryption technology is unable to make sense of it.
A good scenario would be if you had accidently exposed the primary password to someone, the particular person would only know the primary password but not the Secure Folder password, thus ensuring a form of safety and security for your most personal data not been able to access by anyone else, but the owner’s access only.
Additional Updates and Anti Spam Features
The Samsung Galaxy A35 and A55 features Smart Call serves as your own personal fraud alert system, warning you about possible scam calls prior to picking up. Picture receiving a phone call from a mysterious number that identifies as your bank, but Smart Call detects it as a possible scam and stops you from answering.
