In the bustling city of Bangkok, the Huawei Digital and Intelligent APAC Congress recently brought together a diverse array of stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region. With over 2,000 attendees including government officials, scholars, partners, and analysts hailing from 15 different countries and regions, the event served as a pivotal platform for exploring the transformative potential of digital and intelligent infrastructure in the region.

The Asia-Pacific region is currently experiencing a digital renaissance, with countries and regions actively embracing digitalization and intelligence to propel economic growth. Huawei, a key player in this digital evolution, has been instrumental in supporting the digital transformation of numerous enterprise partners across the region. Through relentless innovation, Huawei has facilitated the development of state-of-the-art network and data center infrastructure, as well as the establishment of collaborative platforms like OpenLabs and 5G joint innovation labs, tailored to meet the unique needs of local businesses.

Sabrina Meng, Deputy Chairwoman of the Board and CFO of Huawei, emphasized the region’s status as a global digital powerhouse and Huawei’s commitment to its continued advancement. She highlighted Huawei’s significant investments in research and development and pledged to work collaboratively with partners to deliver cutting-edge technologies such as 5.5G, cloud computing, and digital power, thereby driving digital and intelligent transformation across Asia-Pacific.

His Excellency Nararya S. Soeprapto, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, underscored the importance of cooperation in fostering digital connectivity across the region. He highlighted the upcoming ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), which aims to unleash the full potential of digital services and emerging technologies within ASEAN Member States, thereby driving regional digital transformation.

Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand, outlined Thailand’s strategic initiatives to accelerate digital and intelligent transformation under the ‘Growth Engine of Thailand’ policy. He emphasized the importance of enhancing digital competitiveness and resilience through initiatives such as AI development and digital manpower development.

Leo Chen, Senior Vice President of Huawei and President of Huawei Enterprise Sales, emphasized the critical role of digital and intelligent infrastructure in driving productivity across industries. Chen reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to leveraging its technology and solution capabilities in collaboration with partners to establish Asia-Pacific as a global leader in digital and intelligent infrastructure.

Simon Lin, President of Huawei Asia-Pacific Region, highlighted the need for deep integration of technology into the economy and society as Asia-Pacific embarks on its digital economic development journey. Lin reiterated Huawei’s dedication to driving technological innovation, industry leadership, and local contribution, in partnership with its extensive network of enterprise and cloud partners.

Following the congress, Huawei announced a series of conferences and events aimed at furthering digital transformation initiatives, including the launch of innovative solutions and products, as well as industry-specific summits focused on various sectors.

With stakeholders from both public and private sectors coming together to explore opportunities for digital and intelligent transformation, the Huawei Digital and Intelligent APAC Congress served as a catalyst for collaborative efforts aimed at empowering the Asia-Pacific region for a digital future.
