Color Choices
The HONOR Pad 9 is available in Cyan Lake and Space Gray colors, with certain colors potentially restricted to specific markets or regions. The majority of accessories, such as Keyboard Covers, Stylus, and Adaptors, can be easily found on HONOR’s Online Website. Devices like the HONOR Watch 4 and HONOR Choice earbuds, which are recommended as great companions, can be connected together. We also suggest looking into the HONOR Magic6 Pro if you are looking for a new flagship smartphone. You have the option to review all the information about the accessories here.
Our initial impression is of the Cyan Lake, with its smooth texture and rounded edges creating a seamless and symmetrical design, complete with the usual button placements and ports.
The Design, Look and Feel
The HONOR Pad 9 weighs about 555 Grams, slightly heavier than other competitors, with a thickness of only 7mm, making it easy to hold as a tablet. There were a few subtle alterations made to the design base, with the camera now positioned in the top center of the tablet. When you look at the screen, you will see a 12.1 inch, 120Hz 2.5K Dynamic LCD screen with 88% screen to body ratio, providing a pleasant viewing experience with slim edge bezels that make it easy to hold without affecting the display. This is also supported by the SGS Eye Care certification, Dolby Vision, Circadian Night Display, symmetrical rounded edges, and smooth touch on the back of the tablet for display protection.
On the back of the tablet, there is a single 13MP wide angle camera and an 8MP selfie camera. Both cameras can record in Full HD, while the rear camera can also capture video in 4K at 30FPS with a GRBG color filter set.
Performance & Impressions
In terms of hardware, the HONOR Pad 9 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, featuring 256GB UFS internal storage and 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM. This combination gives the HONOR Pad 9 a strong balance of performance and power efficiency, making it a reliable mid-range tablet. This is clearly demonstrated on the HONOR X9b smartphone that we also reviewed. This tablet is capable of meeting the demands of multitasking, creative software, and some gaming thanks to the Adreno 710 GPU. The ample responsiveness will be provided by the 120Hz screen. In terms of audio, there are 8 speakers in total that are adjusted by HONOR Histen and can be pre-selected based on user preferences.
In my brief experience with the HONOR Pad 9, I found it to be a Tablet that caters to the mass market with a great combination of features, optimization, and software that can be enjoyed at a lower and more accessible price. Initially, our first impression is intriguing, particularly due to the impressive software suite and performance that exceeds current market offerings. However, we will continue testing for another week before sharing our detailed review.
