Now a days monitor has been an important criteria for most of our tasks and play, with some organization still practices work from home and home office businesses are norm, a monitor is definitely a tool needed, whether it is to extend as a second monitor or just as a main monitor for all your work needs.

We will quickly dive into the MSI PRO MP251, a monitor that is meant targeted for small businesses needs with a reasonable refresh rate in order to keep up with current applications and game demands.

Display, Design & Audio

In a nutshell, the MSI PRO MP251 look no different than any conventional monitor that you can get from any brand, however there is still some to mention on the positive side. One is the all black from the frame to the back, which I can say universal all across any place you want to put at, whether it’s home of your office room. Conveniently despite its normal outlook, at the back it does have a VESA mount so you can place it over the monitor mount or place a small PC at the back, universally compatible over with 4 screw mounting. The stand that comes with the monitor has a long stowing area to keep your stationary such as pens or a phone.

Towards the display, the MSI PRO MP251 is a 24.5 inch, IPS 1080P, 100Hz monitor with an SRGB rating at 101%, which is pretty good and accurate over it’s slightly matted display. Brightness however, can peaked up to 300nits at most which is great for indoor use only, definitely if you are trying to take it outdoors as an event monitor, its going to be less desirable. It has good viewing angle too up at about 120 degrees from front to side, while focusing on the front itself gets you about 40 degrees of viewing angle, which is slightly wider compared to a conventional 24 inch monitor. Since this monitor is running at 100hz maximum, the refresh rate is good and higher compared to 75Hz monitor that still offer similar price while then, it also has 1ms MPRT providing good response rate. Other than that it also has Eye-Q-Check which we will talk about under the features.

While most PC monitor does not come with built in speakers, this monitor has a pair of stereo speakers rated at 2w per side. Experience wise, it sounds loud enough for indoor use and more towards generic purposes only. Should you need better audio experience, I’ll suggest it is better to plug an external pair of speakers.

Ports, Connectivity and Features

The MSI PRO MP251 houses several connectivity, offering a dated VGA Port and a standard HDMI port. You also get 3.5mm audio jack if you are planning to use your own set of speakers. Since the Monitor does not have a built in power supply, an included external power adaptor is there, and that is the reason why the monitor looks slim and lightweight. I mean, this is still sufficient as a start and to most businesses, VGA port is still being used, especially with legacy graphics card.

The monitor does have quite a comprehensive OSD which you can trigger by pressing the menu/power button behind. Several notable features including Eye-Q-Check, a feature that serves as a guide on how a person can sit on the right posture, putting the display in the right position of the users. Apart from that it does have a built in Blue light reduction that can be activate from the OSD, especially useful if you are working in a slightly dimmer room or area. For the gamers, there is Screen Assistance where it will activate a crosshair overlay on top, helping in aiming for games like FPS. Last but not least, the monitor does support adaptive sync also.

The MSI PRO MP251 monitor by the end of the day is a monitor that held some advantages, the biggest one being the price, followed by some of the modern features such as flicker free technology, a 100Hz display with 1ms response time, less blue light with TUV certifications that makes this monitor a compelling choice to get should you need a monitor for work, and general purpose use. If you are getting this as a solution towards budget gaming, that is a yes as well if your budget only allows you to get this monitor, it is still a choice to get one just for the fast refresh rate.
