Now I do admit that these days mouse can be one essential equipment that can be expensive, especially if you are seeking for a gaming mouse. So I guess ASUS has to come out with something that appeals to the segment, but all you gotta pay is just RM99, or less than 100USD for other regions.

Who is this for ?

For those who wanted an affordable mouse with most of the modern functions available and work in tandem with available ASUS ecosystem, whether it is a motherboard or any ASUS compatible hardware together, or even not, just purchasing it for it’s basic primary option works well for most gamer out there.

Design & Ergonomics

Following the design que from the previous ASUS TUF Gaming M3 Gen I released last year, this is the improved from the predecessor that retains several things needed not be changed and update some of the modern features into it.

First things first, the ASUS TUF Gaming M3 Gen II ergonomics is curved on the user control portions and left side, while the right side is slightly bump out so that the symmetrical holding is still remained, with that said, the mouse is specifically designed for right hand dominant user. The whole mouse has 6 buttons, including the DPI switcher and the 2 side buttons on the left are configurable via ASUS Armory Crate which we will touch on that under features and experience. The overall mouse weight is at 59 grams with a thickness of 48mm, making it among one of the lightest wired mouse within the budget gaming mouse category along with configurable RGB lights located on the logo and the sides of the mouse.

Features

Now most might see this as a non important thing, but the ASUS TUF Gaming M3 Gen II is guarded well with ASUS Antibacterial Guard, a feature known to be on most ASUS laptops, Keyboards and Mouse, and now this is also available for this mouse which is a neat addition to it as gamers sometimes do eat and drink beside our rigs, not all but some might so that’s one extra layer of protection with IP56 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Teflon feet is preinstalled and this for me is really hassle free as you do not need to worry about sticking it out from the boundary, this ensures smooth glide for precise control. Next is the buttons, you have 6 buttons, including the two left side buttons, a clickable scroll wheel and a DPI button which took advantage of major games available today while the DPI button switches the DPI rates on the fly up to 8000DPI backed by the PAW3318 optical sensor also found in the ROG Strix Impact III, more smoother than the predecessor model. Additional customize options are available via ASUS Armory Crate, including macro and more.

Lastly lets talk about the RGB portion along with the ASUS Armory Crate, since this mouse has a single zone RGB, it allows the user to sync it together with all your ASUS related product, including motherboard, GPU, mouse, keyboard and any of the ASUS Aura Sync compatible hardware. Apart from that, the mouse has 3 on board memory profiles, including DPI customization and performance settings, allowing flexibility for all your needs.

Performance and Experience

According to our test and experience, the ASUS TUF Gaming M3 Gen II is able to reach 94% target efficiency using right handed operation mode with perfect click accuracy that is precise and over the course of testing, there is no pressure or stress during my testing over our table surface without a mousepad. Hence this is safe to say that the mouse will operate well as long the surface is a flat one, whether it is wood or with a mouse pad, it should work as it is, and games that requires fast pace action and movement such as Counter Strike 2 and Starcraft 2 will just run fine and adaptable to it pretty much accurate to my actions.

Verdict & Conclusion

Rating

It is rarely for me to say that this is a no brainer if you are looking for something affordable with quality, and the amount of flexibility that you have on a gaming mouse. At RM99 and if you really wanted a change on your old mouse that could be slowing down your gameplay, just don’t think too much, honestly and go get it. Yes I know that this may not be some of the higher end mouse out there, but it does have all the features that a gamer wants, and I see it’s potential benefits to it to game comfortably by paying less.
