Design
The design of the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE hasn’t changed much, side-by-side it’s pretty much the same as the rest of the Galaxy Buds Pro range, a rugged look with an open-flap material that reveals a pair of earbuds that sit. comfortably place pair with your smartphone. The case weighs about 40 grams, while each earbud weighs 5.6 grams. There are also other sizes of headphones in the box so you can find the perfect fit for your ears. After the design, you can also see that the in-ear part is a combination of the Buds2 design with good ear tips and an appearance that does not look cheap at all, a flat touch sensor and a rubber wingtip housing that holds your ears comfortably. Also, you only have IPX2 to protect against small splashes, so don’t use it while swimming.

Performance – Battery and Connectivity
In my experience, the Galaxy Buds FE will last about 5.5 hours with ANC ON on a single charge, and recharging via the included Buds FE case will give you four more battery life cycles for the pair listen to yourself. This ensures long-lasting music listening and continuous gaming with online video viewing experience. As for charging, 5 minutes will get you about 1.5 hours of music playback, while charging the case takes about 1 hour via the included cable. However, there is no wireless charging unlike it’s mainline Galaxy Buds series, but you will not be losing much there. Any normal circumstances, a full charge should be enough for anyone. about 2-3 days if you only use it to listen to music and maybe watch a few TV episodes via Netflix and a few gaming sessions.
The Galaxy Buds Pro is connected via Bluetooth 5.2 with backwards and forward compatibility within the Bluetooth 5.x specifications; all you need to do is turn on the Bluetooth on your phone and scan, open up the charging case, take out the Earbuds, and place them to your ears, and it will connect via a notification on your Galaxy Phone (or any Android 7.0 phone with the Galaxy Wearable app installed). That easy. In stereo mode, the earbuds will automatically recognize each other.
Performance – Sound and User/App experience
The Galaxy Buds FE is packed with some of the notable features such as active ANC, which can be activated manually or set it at ambient mode, and there is also a earbud fit test where it will detect whether you are wearing it properly. Performance wise , every time when I pick the earbuds up to my ear, it’s connected almost instantaneously, reconnection is quick as the Buds FE does, with very minor latency detected when streaming via YouTube and Spotify. Features include ambient sound support for calls, and in ear detection for calls volume adjustments, all of which can be customized with the Galaxy Wearable App. There is an equalizer setting that is predefined under the Galaxy wearable settings if you need more bass or Treble for your music. Most major audio codecs can be listen and enjoyed with formats compatible such as AAC, FLAC and MQA.
Call quality is clear, with no muting or distortion in regular calls via VoLTE as well as video calls via Zoom. When it comes to music experience, keeping the default settings is enough for all music genres with sometimes lack of accurate Bass, but that can be remedied with Bass Boost in the equaliser pre-sets. Other features include AAC audio compatibility, Find my earbuds, SmartThings Find, and automatic audio routing with other Galaxy compatible devices including smartphones, tablets, and PC/MAC. In our testing, we also found that the headphones were able to achieve a reasonable average of 83 decibels, which is still good but of course you can tweak them using the preset EQ settings to adjust manually if desired.

Conclusion and Rating
The Galaxy Buds FE addresses one of the crucial needs for an earbuds user, which is quality by paying lesser, yet still inherits most of the important features from the mainline Buds series with some of the additional hardware removed, however we still conclude on a daily listening basis, the quality remains with the given drivers that is still matchingly formidable against other brands within the same price bracket out there without losing any of the essential design outlooks. Currently the Galaxy Buds FE is retailing at RM399 and if you buy it now till 31st October 2023, you can also get a free Minions Eco-Friends Cover for FREE (worth RM 169).
