OPPO highlighted its technical partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. at the Snapdragon Summit 2023, which took place from October 24th to 26th in Hawaii, United States. As a key partner, OPPO unveiled its latest technological breakthroughs in smartphones and wearable devices, including the hardware-based ray tracing feature on the new premium Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, the OPPO Watch Pro 4 powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 Wearable Platform, and the previously announced OPPO MR Glass Developer Edition that supports the Snapdragon Spaces XR Developers Platform.

This collaboration, powered by the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform and the latest Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, significantly improves visual effects such as reflections and taillights in gaming, enabling complex and detailed gaming scenarios with remarkable fidelity and high frame rates.

This collaborative endeavor included a pioneering ray tracing pilot project featuring the popular mobile game “Nitro Nation World Tour,” produced by Mythical Games. This project, powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, represents OPPO’s first-ever mobile ray tracing experience in a real-world racing game demo, giving players with more realistic gaming settings and an immersive experience.

Elevating XR Experiences

The long-standing relationship between OPPO and Qualcomm Technologies in the XR applications has achieved a thrilling climax. OPPO introduced the OPPO MR Glass Developers Edition at AWE 2023, which is powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 Platform. This smartphone is one of the world’s first to use the Snapdragon Spaces XR Developers Platform for mixed reality.
