Samsung today launched its new flagship UHS-I memory card type ‘PRO Ultimate’ in microSD and full-size SD form factors, allowing professional photographers and content makers to enhance efficiency in their creative workflows. The new PRO Ultimate range has a capacity of up to 512 gigabytes (GB) and a stunning sequential read performance of up to 200 megabytes per second (MB/s).

The PRO Ultimate exemplifies Samsung’s technological advancements, setting an industry-leading benchmark with read rates of up to 200MB/s, the highest speed feasible via the UHS-I interface, and write speeds of 130MB/s. These dependable high-performance read/write rates, regardless of capacity, enable the smooth transfer of heavy-duty files such as 4K ultra-high definition (UHD) and Full HD (FHD) video with Video Speed Class 30 (V30) compatibility.
The PRO Ultimate microSD card features an Application Performance Class 2 (A2), supporting high performance for random read and write operations as well as multi-tasking capabilities, to fulfill customer demands for the ability to manage massive quantities of material and speedy transfers to other devices.

The Samsung PRO Ultimate controller’s upgraded Error Correction Code (ECC) engine and multi-proof protection features provide safer data storage over prolonged periods for professional photographers and producers. The PRO Ultimate delivers better endurance for a greater number of write-and-erase cycles by upgrading the ECC’s Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code from a 1-kilobyte (KB) engine to a 2KB engine.
With features such as water protection for up to 72 hours in two meters of depth, drop-proof design from heights of up to five meters, wear-out protection for up to 10,000 swipes, and X-ray and magnetic protection, the PRO Ultimate passes the industry’s most stringent test settings and offers worry-free usage even in challenging environments. The PRO Ultimate microSD card is already available globally, while the PRO Ultimate SD card will be available globally in October 2023. Users will also have access to a card reader-equipped alternative for all capacities in both sizes and backed by a ten-year warranty.
