Well its that time again that right after the mid year SAMSUNG Unpacked, the brand usually unveiled their foldables, and this time around there is no surprise, among it that is the SAMSUNG Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, iterating the latest in their offering for the consumers alike that love how foldables can change things around the Smartphone market.
With that said, lets go thru the unboxing.

As usual, no charger or soft case is included in the box, a usual trend these days, not just SAMSUNG, but most brands out there where you still can use back your own charger along with some compatible accessories. However one can easily obtain a Qualcomm or PD compatible charger that supports 25w and above for optimal fast charging and should be able to last you for the whole day.
Color Choices
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 comes in three colors, Mint, Graphite, Cream and Lavender. If you are interested to buy it online, additional colors are offered from Gray, Blue, Green, Yellow which is exclusive via SAMSUNG Online store replacing the BESPOKE edition. The one that we got for the first impression is the Mint, which is a calm color, non fingerprint magnet material all over the sides and back which makes it easy to hold and fold at the same time with good coverage of improved armor aluminum protecting the phone with Gorrila Glass Victus 2 over the Flex Window and the back of the phone.
The Design, Look and Feel
Weighted at just 187 Grams, which is pretty much the same as last year’s model, but still, the compactness remains when folded, which you will get a larger 3.4 inch Flex Window with AMOLED (A.K.A Cover Screen), larger than last year’s Flip4 that extends displays user needed simplified notifications such as calls, replying messages, weather information with status toggle as an inclusion for turning on and off Bluetooth and WiFi, make payments via Samsung Pay and even watch streaming videos (if you wish to) just to mention a few. While closed it is worth mentioned that there is close to no gaps to it, and SAMSUNG done it well this time, preventing small dusts from going in. Once unfolded towards the main screen, the Galaxy Z Flip5 gets the slightly upgraded 6.7 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with HDR10+ and 120Hz high refresh rate which boosts brightness up to 1750nits. Such display configuration ensures the speed and flexibility you need especially when comes to unfolding and folding the phone and certain apps are compatible with foldable continuity where you still can continue to interact with the same app, between the Cover Screen and the main screen.
Performance & Impressions
Hardware wise, the Galaxy Z Flip5 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy with 5G, up to 512GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM, which the configurations set is above in terms of optimization and clock speed slightly above, similar to what you might have seen with the Galaxy S23 lineups that is recently launched earlier this year. This retains higher optimal app tasking and switching as well. The 120Hz display will give you the smooth responsiveness you need. On top of that you will get a pleasant audio experience with its top & bottom firing speaker powered by Dolby Atmos.
Overall on my few days of impression with the Z Flip5, this is a step up on innovation over what Flip phones evolving to become not just a fashion statement, but an improved daily powerhouse driver that you can just keep it in your pocket, yet you are still getting more in terms of improvements which when we experience it, it lasts longer, better battery life that you can task things on, taking your favorite photos with the dual 12MP camera lens that you can selfie on HiRes. From the price point perspective, you are getting a versatile Flex Window now with premium top offerings from Qualcomm top flagship class processor.
