The findings, which are substantiated by significant survey data, were presented today at the “POCO Partners Southeast Asia Forum 2023 – Next steps: Gen Z changes the game” in Bangkok, Thailand. During the forum, Anne Wang, Head of Marketing at POCO Global, explained how mid-range or quasi-flagship smartphones have been rapidly closing the gap on what are traditionally considered premium phones in the last two years, now offering nearly identical features such as extended battery life, larger storage, a stronger processor, more RAM, and an excellent display at much more practical and affordable price points.
Angus Ng, POCO Global’s Head of Product Marketing, met with executives from Lazada, Shopee, PUBG, and MediaTek to discuss the latest tech trends and data-driven insights in Southeast Asian e-commerce, gaming, chipset, and smartphone sectors. Those data and trends demonstrate the enormous changes brought about by Gen-Z into this game while also indicating intriguing new potential in the field of mid-range phones.
