That’s pretty much about it, simple plain headphone which the microphone is attached to it as well.

Design & Comfort

Now the fact is the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 is build around in all plastic and memory foam ear cushion that keep your head and your hearing comfortable, even though the overall materials looks budget like, but it does made its way towards several improvement compared to the previous version of the Cloud Stinger, which is slightly smaller in size, and it looks sleeker too. This makes it great if you wanted to wear long hours with it, especially gaming, which the next thing we wanted to touch on its the weight, that is around 300 grams, making it a nice balanced size headphone that is ready to picked up and enjoy. When not in use, you can just place it conveniently on your table with its 90° rotating ear cups laying flat on the surface.

Features & Experience

  • Passive Noise Cancellation Microphone
  • Swivel-to-Mute noise-canceling microphone
  • Convenient on-board volume control

Based on our testing and experience, this is probably one of the surprising things that we actually enjoyed, which is the good amount of audio delivery towards gaming and action packed movies, where the bass and treble were again, surprisingly on par with many of the slightly pricier headphones that we have tested as well, especially towards games like Diablo IV and mixed of FPS genre, it does bring out the tunes and sound. The volume control did not exhibit any distortion while adjusting the volume live, to some that may not know, certain cheaply made on board control may produce statics while adjusting, this does not and we are happy with it, lastly its the microphone, it just works, loud and clear, not the crystal clear type, but surely your counterparts can hear what you are saying with very minimal misconception there, and for a quick shout to your team mate, it simply works as it is intended.

Verdict & Conclusion

Rating

The HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 although only improve in a very minor manner compared to it’s predecessor, but one should take the point on is the pricing factor and a very surprising good overall audio delivery, whether you are using it for gaming, movies, action packed content or even chatting with a few of your gaming buddies, this pair of headphone is surely a strong contender within its segment selling at the street price of RM219. This is not the latest headphone from HyperX when we are reviewing it, but rest assured, it is worth what you are paying for, and what you are expecting it.

Special thanks to HyperX for providing us the review unit.
