At Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2023 in Barcelona, Samsung will present the future of environmentally friendly digital signs, displaying cutting-edge innovations and initiatives that are in line with the company’s new environmental approach.
We are committed to ensuring everyday sustainability throughout our signage portfolio and finding meaningful ways to minimize our environmental impact as part of our journey toward a more circular economy,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are excited to showcase our vision for how smart signage can help enable everyday sustainability while unlocking incredible new opportunities for businesses at ISE.”
Construction of eco-conscious digital signage technologies
At ISE this year, Samsung will highlight the company’s sustainability initiatives based on its new environmental strategy announced in September 2022. Pre-registered visitors will be able to see Samsung’s environmental vision come to life, with the sustainability zone at the booth showcasing the eco-conscious practices applied to digital signage products. These practices are based on the five stages of the product lifecycle – sourcing, production, distribution, using, and recycling.
The QHC, QMC, and QBC models from Samsung’s 2023 smart signage line are 28.5mm thick, or around 40% thinner than earlier generations. This allows for a more than 20% reduction in the number of shipping containers needed for logistics after manufacturing. Additionally, smart signage solutions allow automated screen brightness adjustment by utilising an illuminance sensor that responds to environmental light conditions, assisting users in automatically controlling their power usage. As an added bonus, 10% of the resin utilised for the rear covers is made of post-consumer materials (PCM).
Samsung’s cloud-based MagicINFO technology improves Remote Management and aids in the effective management of numerous signs displays and a range of information. Users will be able to effortlessly manage different devices, remotely modify settings like screen brightness, and simply check the number of connected devices, their kinds, and faults. Additionally, this solution will provide customers with diagnostics for device health and alerts for network disruption, cable connection problems, and device temperature.
Samsung will also be operating a dedicated solution seminar zone at ISE 2023, presenting guests to the company’s cutting-edge technology. With a variety of energy-saving options, the soon-to-be-announced cloud signage platform will enable customers to control and lower their energy use. Recent innovations include remote brightness control, scheduled luminance scheduling, real-time power consumption monitoring, and autonomous device management. To offer a smooth user experience, this complete platform will connect and integrate LCD signage, LED signs, and B2B TVs.
Unveiling New Outdoor Signage for 2023: Huge LED Screens and Small-Sized Displays
At ISE 2023, Samsung will introduce new signage devices. The business will first introduce its 2023 outdoor LED signage (Model Name: XHB series), designed for the sports sector and stunning iconic sites.
The XHB series comes in four versions: P6 (6mm pixel pitch), P8, P10, and P16. All of these models emit light at an astounding peak brightness of 8,000 nits, producing extraordinarily clear and spectacular picture quality even in direct sunshine. Furthermore, the standardised module design of the XHB ensures flexible design and installation, including Concave (maximum 2500R curvature), Convex, S shape, Fascia, and 90 °L type.
The XHB series has a design that is twice as thin as the previous generation, allowing for smooth installation. For added convenience, the installation time has been cut in half. Additionally, thanks to greater energy efficiency, the XHB uses less power than its predecessor by over 15% and can prevent 2,492 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, which is the same amount of CO2 that 290,000 30-year-old pine trees can sequester in a year.
Last but not least, Samsung is launching a compact 24-inch outdoor signage display (Model Name: OH24B) to serve the market for EV chargers. It is crucial to offer solutions that enable a more connected, comfortable charging experience while presenting upselling chances for companies and shops as the demand for EVs rises.
The new kiosk and Flip Pro’s unique solution provide improved device compatibility.
Additionally, Samsung is introducing its newest model, the Windows version of “Samsung Kiosk” (Model Name: KMC-W). In order to provide customers more options, “Samsung Kiosk” for Windows is compatible with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS in addition to the current model operating Tizen (OS).
The new Kiosk uses an Intel Core Processor from the 11th generation. Beyond the needs of the healthcare, hotel, and retail industries, it is packed with 8GB DRAM and 256GB SSD, offering quick processing and plenty of storage capacity.
