Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, both from Malaysia, were chosen as HONOR Malaysia’s Chief Experience Officers to evaluate the screen durability of the HONOR X9a 5G. They just won the men’s doubles gold medal at the 2022 BWF World Championships in Tokyo.

The curved screen of the HONOR X9a 5G, which is renowned for its Ultra-tough OLED Curved Display, is specially created and employs a deep 0.65mm Super Reinforced glass instead of the 0.55mm glass normally found in the market. This allays any possible worries about the curved screen’s longevity.

In a video recently shared on the Facebook page of HONOR Malaysia, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are shown smashing the curved screen of the HONOR X9a 5G in an effort to test its durability.

The first task, which was divided into two halves, involved slamming a shuttlecock through a wooden board. The two make quick work of shattering the wood with no effort. The HONOR X9a 5G was then put in front of the comparable-sized wooden board, serving as a shield. The two men picked up their racquets for round two with increased accuracy and precision, pushing the HONOR X9a 5G’s screen resilience to the ultimate test of durability. The outcomes astounded everyone.

Both Aaron and Soh tried many leaping smashes, a badminton move that produces power and efficacy, but they were unable to get past the HONOR X9a 5G’s screen. Instead, the impact was felt by the wooden board holding the phone. The HONOR X9a 5G’s screen seems unharmed after taking a number of knocks, but the wooden board is destroyed as a result of the repeated efforts.

Aaron and Soh agreed that the HONOR X9a 5G was difficult to break, and they both praised the curved screen’s strength for withstanding such testing. Due to the high production costs associated with curved displays in smartphone designs, only the flagship series of smartphones use them. With the HONOR X series, HONOR has now made it possible for more people to enjoy the elegance of a smartphone with a curved screen. So there you have it, another round of quality checks on the HONOR X9a 5G standing stall.
