MICROSOFT unveils new Surface devices that usher the Windows PC into the next computing era.

• Pre-orders for Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Pro 9 starting 8 November in Malaysia
• The Surface Pro 9 will be available in two new colors including Sapphire and Forest

Microsoft recently announced that pre-orders for the new Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 will begin on 8 November in Malaysia through commercial authorised resellers and authorised retailers.

From now until 28 November, customers who pre-order a Surface Pro 9 will receive a complimentary Surface Pro Signature Keyboard and other free gifts (worth up to RM1,288) from selected authorised retailers, while customers who pre-order a Surface Laptop 5 will receive a complimentary Microsoft Arc Mouse and other free gifts (worth up to RM998). All customer purchases will also come with a complimentary one-month subscription to Microsoft 365.

In order to unlock new experiences, Microsoft outlined its vision for the next generation of Windows PCs, where the PC and the cloud will merge. Users are given the tools they need to participate, be seen and heard, and express their creativity by combining the best of Microsoft on a single device.

Surface Pro 9

Microsoft blended the benefits of a powerful laptop, versatile tablet, and ink-ready studio ten years ago, and the Surface Pro 9 has elevated the bar. The device has a stunning, edge-to-edge 13″ PixelSense display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, as well as the recognisable built-in kickstand.

An HD camera, Omnisonic speakers, directional microphones, and Microsoft’s own G6 chip—which advances inking with tactile cues all housed beneath the display. Digital ink on the screen will feel like pen on paper when used with the new Ink Focus feature in Microsoft OneNote or the new GoodNotes app for Windows 11.

Microsoft SQ®3 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon with 5G connectivity or the 12th Gen Intel® Core processor built on the Intel® Evo™ platform are the two options for the Surface Pro 9. Users will have the same recognisable Surface Pro design, fantastic performance, all-day battery life, and Secured-core capabilities with either choice.

With up to 50% more performance than the Surface Pro 8, the Surface Pro 9 is designed for heavy workloads, full desktop productivity, and real-world multitasking. On the other hand, users of Surface for Business may anticipate fast 5G connectivity and up to 19 hours of battery life thanks to the Microsoft SQ®3 processor. Unlock new AI capabilities and experiences with Windows Studio effects with an entirely new Neural Processing Unit (NPU), made possible by the NPU capable of more than 15 trillion calculations per second.

Surface Laptop 5

The Surface Laptop 5 is svelte and sophisticated, offers a full day of battery life, and now has Thunderbolt™ 4. The device is more than 50% more powerful than its predecessor due to the most recent Intel® Evo™ platform.

The Surface Laptop 5’s unique 3:2 PixelSense display is available in 13.5″ and 15″ sizes, both with Dolby Vision IQ, to provide customers with the finest possible picture, bright colours, and crisp contrast in any lighting condition. The speakers are perfectly tuned and include Dolby Atmos 3D spatial processing, while the front-facing HD camera and Studio Microphones capture in an accurate manner.

Surface Laptop 5 delivers the craftsmanship, comfort, and capability to get in and do your best work, from the seamless opening and fast log-in with Windows Hello to the touchscreen, precision touchpad, and excellent typing experience.

Microsoft Designer and Image Creator

The latest graphic design app in Microsoft 365 is called Microsoft Designer. Microsoft Designer is meant to bring creative thoughts to life and gives users the tools they need to do it. It is powered by best-in-class AI, such as DALLE 2. This makes it simple to quickly design social media posts, invitations, and much more.

To help users express themselves even better, regardless of their level of skill, Microsoft AI and DALLE 2 have been integrated into the Microsoft Designer app. This blurring of the lines between the platform, the device, and the cloud is an example of AI support. With Image Creator, Microsoft will soon integrate these Microsoft Creator capabilities, which include DALLE 2 integration, into Bing and Edge, enabling users to use their words not just for searching but also for creating.
