With the beginning of its multi-phase GIRYPTO NFT project today, KADOKAWA GEMPAK STARZ (KGS) is launching a brand-new open-source intellectual property (IP) for Web5 (Web3 + Web2) named GIRYPTO. KGS is bringing value to the metaverse with the launch of this brand-new IP as it ventures into the blockchain industry.
The fact that GIRYPTO is the first open-source IP in the comic book business is what makes it so special. Anyone and everyone is permitted to copy and distribute GIRYPTO contents in any format or medium, as well as remix, adapt, and build upon them for any purpose, even commercially, under the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 licencing agreement as long as proper acknowledgment is given. KGS invites partners and collaborators to participate in this initiative as it seeks to jointly create GIRYPTO as an unlimited Web5 (Web3 + Web2) IP.
Chibi (cute) drawings of GIRYPTO characters are included in this NFT series. A free-to-mint NFT series, there are 3,000 pieces available. For those who are interested, the Fables series also serves as a mint pass for the GIRYPTO Epics NFT series, which will debut on 12 December 2022, so they should get them as soon as they are accessible.
The Epics series, which portrays the characters in their original form, comprises only 999 pieces. KGS is also working with renowned comic artists from Japan’s KADOKAWA CORPORATION to produce crossovers that will appear in some of its GIRYPTO NFTs, so fans should keep an eye on https://girypto.io for updates.
The businesses under KADOKAWA CORPORATION, such as GUANGZHOU TIANWEN KADOKAWA (China), and KADOKAWA AMARIN, as well as KGS are working with several well-known artists on more projects under the GIRYPTO IP (Thailand). Comics, webtoons, and novels based on GIRYPTO are some of the ongoing initiatives. These are expected to emerge in the first quarter of 2023.
