This also means that Samsung is one of the brands that does have plenty of experience when comes to producing earbuds and audio related accessories in the market, which is a proven one of the brand leads in this area as well.
Well, we recently received the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro and it is the successor to the last year’s Galaxy Buds Pro, let’s all find out and dive into the full review of it.
Unboxing
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro came with the following
- Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro Case + Pair of earbuds

Design
The design of the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro is pretty much based on the previous Galaxy Buds Pro which is a pebble look with an open clamshell plastic material that reveals the pair of earbuds sitting nice ready to the paired with your smartphone. The weight of the casing is around 43grams while each earbud is weighted at 5.5 grams. There is also additional eartip sizes in the box so you can find one that actually fits your ear. Following up to the design, you can also see that the earbuds portion is a combination of the Buds2 design with the base feature looks of Buds Pro together, which makes sense since it is part of the Pro series and furthermore, the size is reduced by 15% and better wind shielding. Apart from that you get IPX7 Water resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes of submersion.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro came in choices of three colors, graphite, silver and the hero color, Bora Purple, which the colors matched most current A, S and Z series of Samsung Galaxy lineups of smartphones in 2022.
If you are fancy for cases, Samsung has a few cases that is compatible with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, which you can click here to see more of the cases offering available via Samsung Online Store or via Samsung Official Accessories Stores at Lazada or Shopee.
Performance – Battery and Connectivity
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro will last about 5 hours with ANC ON in my experience for a single charge, and recharging back via the included Buds2 Pro case will let you have another 5 rounds of battery life over your pair of earbuds. This ensures long lasting music listening and continuous gaming with video streaming enjoyment. Recharging wise, 5 minutes gives you roughly about 1.5 hour of music time, while charging the case took roughly about 1 hour via the supplied cable, however wireless charging will take much longer than that, but in any normal cases a full charge will last anyone around 2 to 3 days if you are just solely using it for music listening and maybe a couple of drama episodes via Netflix.
Connectivity wise, the Galaxy Buds Pro is connected via Bluetooth 5.3 with backwards compatibility within the Bluetooth 5.x specifications, all you need to do is just turn on the Bluetooth on your phone and scan, open up the charging case take out the Earbuds and place it to your ears, and its connected via a notification on your Galaxy Phone (or any Android 7.0 phone with Galaxy Wearable app installed). It’s just that simple. The pair of earbuds will detect each other automatically in stereo mode simultaneously.
Performance – Sound and User/App experience
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro is packed with several new features, performance wise , every time when I pick the earbuds up to my ear, it’s connected almost instantaneously, reconnection is quick as the Buds2 Pro does, with close to no latency when streaming via YouTube and Spotify. Features include automatic noise cancellation with ambient sound volume adjustments, which when someone is having a conversation with you in the real world, you will be able to hear the other person speaking, once ANC is deactivated when there is human voice present, it will be reactivated after 5, 10 or 15 seconds, depending on the user’s selection. There is an equalizer setting that is predefined under the Galaxy wearable settings if you need more bass or Treble for your music. Additionally over the Labs there is an option for enabling game mode, where this modes brings more awareness tuned for gaming, which gave vivid experiences. Besides that you have the Ambient mode during calls which the Buds2 Pro will lower down the volume so that you are aware if someone beside you is trying to converse with you. The Earbud Fit test is a guide to users on how to properly wear your earbuds and analyses ear sensitiveness so that you can hear every tune clearly while the new 360 audio mode immerses the audio experience further by enabling all round sound direction, detection and head movement of the user. 24Bit Audio can be listen and enjoyed with formats compatible such as AAC, FLAC and MQA.
Call quality is clear with no muffles or distortion during normal calls via VoLTE, as well as video calling via Zoom. Music experience wise, keeping it over default settings is good enough over any genre of music. Other features include IPX7 water resistance, AAC sound compatibility, Find my Earbuds, SmartThings find & auto switch audio route with other Galaxy compatible devices covering both Smartphones, Tablets & PC/MAC. During our test, we also found out that the earbuds manage to reach a reasonable average of 84 Decibels which loud and great for all purposes.

The Galaxy Buds2 Pro is definitely an one up in terms of audio performance and improvement from the previous iteration, smaller and sleeker earbuds design that still holds strong quality audio, with a better surround experience backed by AKG and Dolby Atmos. This earbuds is another companion you should strongly consider to pair with your favorite Samsung Galaxy devices. Currently the Galaxy Buds2 Pro is retailing at RM899.
