Well, OPPO is no stranger when it comes to the Smartphone and Smart Accessories market. So far they do enjoy quite a buzz over their newly launched OPPO Reno and Find series lineups that covers most mid and upper tier segments of customers with a few feature upgrades over it.
Now OPPO entry to the tablet is certainly a welcome, with the target towards specs and price that could just be for everyone

Design
The Design of the OPPO Pad Air is pretty much based off a slated look in front, with a surrounding bezels on the screen, which is quite a standard looking tablet and having bezels is not a bad thing, allowing the user to easily operating the slate without blockig or interrupting the screen use. At the back of the Pad Air, it is looking real clean and flat with no bumps except on the camera portion, and while at it, you will see some Sunset Dune 3D texture design surrounding the top part of the camera placement, giving it some design touch to the tablet overall design which does makes it kind of fresh look to it and easily identifiable that this is made by OPPO. The overall weight of the device is at 440 grams with 6.94mm of thickness which makes it quite easy to slide it on your favorite folder enclosure or bag.
You will get the usual USB C for data and charging, a 10.36 FHD+ display, a rear camera with front camera, power button, volume buttons, MicroSD card tray, Quad speakers and a pair of microphone for communications and noise cancellation.
Well, there is only one color, and that is grey, and to me, its the safest color for anyone, anywhere any occasion, practically suited where ever you use it.
Display & Audio
From the display perspective, the OPPO Pad Air hosts a 10.36 inch IPS display with HDR10 and refresh rates locked at 60Hz. It can be quite reflective on certain viewing environment but general use wise, it still capable of giving vibrant color and contrast display over most usage, including your favorite stream which still have the L1 Widewine certification on the tablet, giving FullHD content on streaming apps. The only downside I see that is the refresh rate is pretty much standard and I do wish it is at 90Hz for much fluid on screen responses, but since this is under budget tablet category, so I guess it is pretty reasonable at a standard 60Hz frames.
Audio Wise, this tablet has a quad speakers setup on both side with tuning from Dolby Atmos that delivers clear and loud quality audio and this is definitely recommended for those who enjoys sound and music over large screen devices. Over testing it sounded good and definitely a joy to be listen over room size setup.
Camera
As usual, camera is not a strong point over to tablets, the same can be said for the OPPO Pad Air as well. For the rear camera you have one 8MP camera followed by the 5MP camera module on top of the front facing screen. Both camera can be said good when you are in a bright environments, which in my opinion great too when performing video calls and maybe a couple of quick snaps, just don’t ever try to snap darker area, it will come out grainy, but hey, who’s going to do that anyway, it is still a tablet which is a tool for work and communications when dealing with cameras, however rest assured that at most of the time again, it is still decent for a tablet.
However we will still attach the sample shots that we got so that you can take a look, which also includes a rear video camera samples in 1080P, 30FPS which is the maximum it can get to.
Performance & Benchmarks
Since this is a budget or starter entry tablet, the OPPO Pad Air is powered by a decent Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 Octa Core Processor, 4GB of RAM and a choice of 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. However if you dont have enough storage, there is still a MicroSD Slot Expansion which can be expanded up to 1TB with it, which is decent and a welcoming feature especially those who works on files and a lot of images. It came with Android 12 with OPPO’s ColorOS 12.1 that is still fairly a reputatable close to stock Android UI experience with additional functionality such as better split screen, app window and RAM expansion up to an additional 3GB taken from the internal storage. To translate over to usage via gaming, you could pretty much comfortable over games such as Mobile Legends and Call Of Duty with a stable framerate while games like Genshin Impact, well you will have to set all to low in order to be barely reaching 30FPS.
Experience wise, this basic tablet can last you almost 2 days with a mix of YouTube, checking emails, played some Mobile Legend matches, web browsing, listening some music thru Spotify and snap a few quick pictures. I don’t mind playing with this tablet over eSports titles as the processor with the specifications can adapt to it easily.
Above is the Benchmark results, which basically indicates this tablet still holds reasonable performance for daily use and consumption.

Verdict & Conclusion
The OPPO Pad Air is generally a tablet that is fun to use bringing in some work needed features to it. With the starting price of RM1099, I find it quite reasonable over the price perspective of specifications within the Android Tablet realm. The positive side being a high resolution display, a good quad speaker and quite snappy over daily use. The downside is it came with only 4GB RAM and 60Hz display. Being said, still suitable for those who needs it for work, some play and browsing contents all day long.
