The Pantanal cross-platform smart system, OPPO Carlink for enhanced smartphone-car integration, and the OPPO Sense® health algorithm were all unveiled today as part of OPPO’s 2022 OPPO Developer Conference (ODC 2022), which also included an RMB 2 billion plan to support creators and developers partnering with OPPO.
“We will live in a world where smart devices are everywhere. These smart devices should not be simply connected but integrated to serve users and help realize the future of the Internet of Experience,” said Pete Lau, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer at OPPO. “As we continue to transform into a company with its technology ecosystem, we look forward to joining hands with global developers and partners to build an open, symbiotic, and thriving ecosystem for all.”
OPPO’s Pantanal cross-platform smart system provides fully open integration for everyone
Pantanal was created to dissolve barriers between various devices and systems in order to enable true connectivity and collaboration. Pantanal can better understand and anticipate users’ requirements and deliver services at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner due to cross-device sensing and computing capabilities.
With Pantanal, developers will find it easier to create and deploy services across various platforms, reducing costs and boosting productivity.
OPPO Carlink solution provides integration for smartphones and automobiles
OPPO created OPPO Carlink to improve communication and integration between smartphones and automobiles as more and more consumers rely on their smart devices for in-car services and entertainment. A new framework for cooperation between smartphone and vehicles companies is offered by OPPO Carlink. Without modifying the existing in-car infotainment systems, users may access a smartphone’s computing power and app ecosystem, and smartphones can offer services through the car via software pushes.
Furthermore, OPPO and SAIC Motor announced a partnership to work on fusing smart devices and automobiles. This comes after an earlier this year deal between OPPO and Tesla China to utilise OPPO smartphones as digital keys for the Model 3 and Model Y in China.
Joint R&D leads to seamless, intelligent IoT experiences
OPPO has expanded its hardware range as it creates a rich ecosystem around its products and services. Over the last three years, OPPO has launched its broader line of IoT products to over 50 countries and regions worldwide, generating over 120% growth across all categories.
Empowering global developers to build an open and integrated ecosystem
OPPO has partnered with over 300,000 developers and 700,000 creators to distribute their products and services to users across multiple platforms. The OPPO Open Platform provides assistance to developers in areas such as app services, graphics processing, and interconnectivity.
OPPO also stated that it will invest RMB 2 billion in its Gravity Plan in 2023 to assist developers in collaboration to establish an ecosystem.
Improving quality of life through preventive health
Through preventative health measures, OPPO is trying to enhance the health of its consumers through advancements in sensor technology, algorithms, and data science.
OPPO debuted its self-developed OPPO Sense® algorithm at ODC 2022. This system offers advancements in cardiovascular health, fitness, and sleep tracking. Along with improving IoT product connectivity, OPPO will continue to work with international partners to provide health management app, hardware, and services that can be used to identify the signs of certain chronic diseases.
The first OPPO Research Institute Innovation Accelerator, which just finished on 29 August, was also updated during the event. The initiative was introduced earlier this year to enable technology experts and business owners to implement their creative solutions and build a brighter future with OPPO. Ten winning plans were selected from 536 applications from 39 countries and regions, each of which looks at creative solutions to problems in accessible technology and digital health. The top 10 winners will receive help from OPPO and its partners to help them develop and implement their ideas in addition to $46,000 in grants.
OPPO continues to strive towards developing an open platform that facilitates collaboration with developers and other partners, guided by its brand mission of “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World.” OPPO will continue to deepen and grow its ecosystem by collaborating with more developers and partners, offering seamless connection and smart experiences to more consumers across the world.
