HUAWEI officially launched its Audio Lab in Shanghai last month in order to continuously advance its audio technologies. The advancement would improve HUAWEI’s R&D skills and reaffirm the company’s position as a top TWS earphone brand in the digital era.

Integrates Strong Capabilities of More Than Seven Global R&D Centers into its Audio Area

With a staff of more than 500 acoustical engineers spread throughout its seven worldwide R&D facilities, including institutions in Tokyo, Munich, and Tampere, Finland, HUAWEI is constantly devoted to R&D across all fields.

With a floor space of 2000 m2, Shanghai Audio Facility is HUAWEI’s biggest audio lab. There are seven different areas in it: the Headset Call Lab, the 3D Audio Lab, the Headset Noise Cancellation Lab, the Indoor Scenarios Lab, the Hardware Innovation Lab, the Audio Experience Research Lab, and the In-Car Scenarios Lab.

It includes two earphone evaluation systems, one for active noise cancellation (ANC) and the other for sound quality, both of which are industry-leading, impartial systems. There’s also a Variable Acoustic Lab, the first of its kind in the industry. It is primarily used to test and fine-tune the audio playback effects on mobile devices such as tablets, PCs, speakers, and home theatre systems in a variety of listening environments.

The space is utilised to adjust earphone calls’ sound pickup. Heartbeats may be heard in one of the labs when the background noise level is only 9 dBA. Additionally, the Headset Call Lab creates a deep neural network (DNN) noise cancellation algorithm that is only accessible to HUAWEI. This algorithm learns in-depth from hundreds of millions of noise data records and over 500 different types of noise, including noises from crowded areas like subways, cars, malls, parties, bars, concerts, and the open air.

Innovative cutting-edge technologies, such as Intelligent Dynamic ANC and Pure Voice Call, are developed in the Call Noise Cancellation Lab. It is responsible of adjusting sound quality and assessing spatial audio effects. All of these achievements have been applied to HUAWEI’s flagship products.

End-To-End Audio Capabilities That Redefine Listening in The Digital Era

Consumers have high expectations for wireless earphones, including features like smart interactions, noise reduction, and sound quality. The ability to provide systematic audio solutions, covering the following attributes: innovative components, iterations over architecture, cutting-edge algorithms, sound effect commissioning, and Bluetooth encoding and decoding, is demonstrated by HUAWEI, despite the fact that it may be difficult to fit all these capabilities into a single device.

HUAWEI Audio Looks into The Future

As time goes on, audio capabilities will become more integrated with other capabilities. As a result, speakers or microphones will use HUAWEI’s audio technologies. With additional items on the way, the company has already added its cutting-edge audio technologies to tablets, PCs, mobile phones, and Vision products.

The unveiling of Shanghai Audio Lab seeks to highlight HUAWEI’s dedication to acoustic innovation and collaboration. HUAWEI will continue to research and develop new technologies that make innovative listening accessible to everyone and every household.

This dedication to end-to-end, high-fidelity audio is embodied in the recently released HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2. It uses the first-ever “Ultra-hearing True Sound Dual Driver” system with digital cross-over technology in terms of hardware, resulting in enhanced bass thumping and superb sound quality with rich details.

Software-wise, HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 has twin HD audio codecs called LDAC and a Triple Adaptive EQ algorithm to guarantee constantly excellent quality. This configuration maintains outstanding sound quality during transmission and results in richer timbres overall.

The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 has clever features to fulfill users’ daily demands, and it only costs RM899. With every purchase of the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 on the HUAWEI Official Website, HUAWEI Official Store on Shopee, or HUAWEI Flagship Store on Lazada, customers will receive a HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 Protective Case* and 3 months of free HUAWEI Music Premium**.

Additionally, current HUAWEI users can use the MyHUAWEI App to redeem vouchers worth RM100. The vouchers can only be used to purchase Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 from any Huawei Experience Store or the Huawei Official Website up till 11 September 2022.
