AMD today announced the Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processor lineup, powered by the new “Zen 4” architecture and leaping to the next era of high performance for gamers, enthusiasts, and content creators. The Ryzen 7000 Series processors deliver dominant performance and energy efficiency, up to 16 cores and 32 threads and built on an optimised, TSMC 5nm process node. Compared to the previous generation, the AMD Ryzen 7950X processor provides up to 29% more single-core performance, up to 45% more compute for content creators in POV Ray, up to 15% faster gaming performance in select titles, and up to 27% better performance-per-watt. The new Socket AM5 platform, AMD’s most expansive desktop platform to date, is built for longevity, with support through 2025.

AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop Processors

AMD Ryzen 7000 Series delivers a double-digit IPC boost over “Zen 3,” cementing the award-winning “Zen” architecture’s track record of innovation, execution, and delivery. The Ryzen 7000 Series, the world’s first high-performance x86 5nm CPU, ushers in the remarkable speed of “Zen 4” architecture, advancing gaming and content creation to new heights.

When compared to the competition, the 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor provides up to 57% better content creation performance in V-Ray Render. Meanwhile, the 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 7600X processor outperforms the current gaming processor by an average of 5% across select titles.

Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processors are expected to be available globally beginning September 27 from leading retailers starting from $299 USD.

AMD Socket AM5 Updates

AMD also unveiled Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processors alongside with Socket AM5 platform, which includes cutting-edge connectivity features such as dual-channel DDR5 memory. The AM5 platform also has up to 24 PCIe® 5.0 lanes, making it AMD’s most comprehensive desktop platform to date. Support for new and evolving technologies such as PCIe® Gen 5 and DDR5 memory enables users to grow with their Socket AM5 solution, which AMD will continue to support with platform longevity through 2025 and beyond.

New Memory Modules Introduced via AMD EXPO Technology

Alongside with AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors, various memory (RAM) offerings from ADATA, Corsair, GeIL, G.SKILL, and Kingston were also unveiled with memory speeds up to DDR5-6400.
