It is no surprised that these days Laptops comes if different specifications, pricing and features. Some came in at a high specifications, more feature, some may just come in their good design and the outer shell beauty, what if there is an offering from ASUS that we think that it might just came in at a great time, with a good price and quite decent specifications?

Today we will look at the ASUS Vivobook 15X OLED, one of the latest Laptop offering from ASUS that more targeted towards the line between work, good color display and some entertainment.

Design and Ports

For this, ASUS done a few things to keep the cost right, the whole shell is made of plastic, but it is all good grade hard plastic body with a lay flat hinge structure which is available on some Vivobook lineups as well. Besides the plastic shell, they used a darker tone color to make it much more resembles a metallic feeling to it with a smooth touch with no rough edges towards all sides. Overall it is weighted at 1.7KG on the Laptop with US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard on the chassis.

The chiclet Keyboard is a full size one with white LED backlight, NumPad and key travel when typing is feeling good, some may think that the key travel may be not long enough, but I find it comfortable with very less mistyping on documents or searching something over the web. Touchpad is real smooth on navigation and tapping, and looking at the top right of the touchpad you will spot a small square which is a fingerprint scanner. Experience is good so far and the touchpad does has full support for Windows Precision Drivers with Fingerprint log in compliant with Windows 11.

Ports wise, over left you have 1 USB 2.0 port with 2 LED indicates power and charging, on the right you have the power adaptor port, 1 HDMI 1.4 port, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C for data only, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and a Audio 3.5mm combo jack.

There is also a dual noise cancelling microphone and a 3DNR 720P webcam with privacy shutter, the microphone does the job well while the webcam is a standard one, but hey, definitely usable on well lit environments.

Display and Audio

Both the display and audio portion of the ASUS Vivobook 15X OLED is of course the display is fitted with a 1620P 15.6 inch OLED screen that is also has HDR, 120Hz refresh rate, Pantone Validated and can reach its peak brightness up to 600nits. This translates to good viewing angle with the gloss lamination, a fast display for some games and low latency on moving fast images, and real pleasant when editing photos with 100% DCI-P3 Wide Color Gamut there.

Audio is excellent too with loud and clear music and clear vocals during our music and movies test which is powered by ASUS SonicMaster and DTS Audio Processing bringing in customization on several preset audio modes whether its by just the built in speaker or plugging in your headphones.
