• The metaverse space allows users to interact with and experience Samsung products.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today the launch of Samsung Space Tycoon (“Space Tycoon”), a virtual playground created on the global metaverse platform Roblox. Space Tycoon is a virtual world in which users may build, play games, and share experiences utilising Samsung Electronics products in conjunction with alien characters in space, with design and functionality elements drawn from the business simulation ‘tycoon’ genre.

Samsung launched this service to deliver an integrated, metaverse experience where Gen Z customers may create and enjoy their own Samsung products. Samsung’s goal is to allow Gen Z customers to communicate with one another and experience the brand.

“Space Tycoon is designed to be a playground where many customers can experience unlimited possibilities of virtual spaces,” said Jinsoo Kim, Executive Vice President at Corporate Design Center in Samsung Electronics. “We wanted to give our Gen Z customers a chance to experience Samsung products in a way they have never done before. We will continue to showcase content that can deliver more meaningful and entertaining digital experiences for both our current and future customers.”

Space Tycoon features three distinct play areas: the Mining Zone for gathering resources, the Shop for buying virtual goods, and the Lab for creating products. The game is set in the Samsung Space Station as well as the research laboratory where alien characters conduct research on Samsung’s newest products.

In Space Tycoon, users may design different Samsung products, from Galaxy smartphones to different TVs and home appliances, as well as buy or upgrade game items, utilising the excavated resources. Starting with real-world products and giving them a facelift to become in-game gadgets allows users to express their creativity. For instance, consumers will be more creative with the Jet Bot vacuum cleaner changing into a hoverboard or The Sero lifestyle TV into a one-person helicopter. The foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Flip can also change into a bag or a scooter.

Currently, there are more than 20 Samsung products accessible in the Shop, where new product series is frequently updated and the colours of the purchased items might vary at random based on the levels achieved.

Space Tycoon will be released in 14 languages at the same time, including Korean, English, Chinese, and Spanish. Additional capabilities, such as the ability for users to connect with one another, share their creations, and attend exclusive virtual parties, will be introduced in the future. Furthermore, as part of the #YouMake campaign, Samsung will host specific online events on its website Samsung.com that will focus on colouring and collecting Samsung items.
