Consumers’ on-screen experience becomes a realistic reality thanks to the improved Neural Quantum Processor 8K, the new AI upscaling feature, and the new calibration app, allowing users to effortlessly manage their on-screen experience in a much more customised manner.

14-bit Contrast Mapping
With the newly added 14-bit contrast mapping, the 2022 Neo QLED 8K panels are built to give extreme details in all types of scenes, building on the current 12-bit control introduced in 2021. As a result, a new 8K screen has been developed that can show exceptional picture quality with increased contrast and detail control. Between last year’s model and this year’s Neo QLED 8K, there is a noticeable difference in contrast and detail. Despite having similar specifications, such as Mini LEDs and dimming zones, the 2022 Neo QLED 8K allows us to see intricate scenes and details that were before unnoticed. As shown above, 14-bit contrast mapping allows us to see the fine details on the surface of the water as well as the granular texture of the rocks underwater.
Real Depth Enhancer
When the eye is focused on an object, it directs its attention to it, focusing on the object’s sharpness, clarity, and texture while keeping the background in mind. The Neural Quantum Processor 8K in the Samsung Neo QLED 8K 2022 does something similar with its new Real Depth Enhancer feature, which increases overall contrast and clarity of the object, creating a greater sense of depth and making the images pop.
The Real Depth Enhancer naturally guides the consumers’ eyes to focus on the thing in front of them, creating depth and allowing the rhinoceros to stand out from the background, as seen in this example.
Smart Calibration
Samsung Neo QLED 8K gets a new sense of control with a new year of image quality improvements. Viewers may now calibrate and optimise their display from the menu bar or via their smartphone’s Smart Calibration app. The app provides calibrated images in 30 seconds in Basic Mode, and complete image calibration and optimisation in 5 to 8 minutes in Professional Mode. Both modes need the users to perform a simple one-step process to improve the on-screen image. The Professional Mode’s enhancement is seen here, allowing Neo QLED 8K viewers to benefit from the premium hardware and AI upscaling technology.
