OPPO is back again with a new flagship phone, the OPPO Find X5 Pro, which is a footstep from it’s previous year with quite a lot of upgrades and enhancements implemented to keep the competitions on par with all of the rival brands especially the upgrades done over the rear camera which is always been part of OPPO’s branding strength.

Design

The OPPO Find X5 Pro design is based on tall but slim over the candybar form factor which makes it further appealing with it’s glossy color coating from the back and sides of the phone. While it definitely shines on the gloss, this gave a ceramic finishing to it which touching towards the phone like touching a real smooth pebble and not to mention, it is easy to hold and operate as well. The sides are made of aluminum that further strengthen the device.

Let’s further discover the device, from the right side, there is only one button, the power button, towards the left you will get a pair of volume buttons, over to the top you get a noise cancelling microphone, while the bottom you get a SIM Tray slot, a microphone, one USB C slot for data and charging and a bottom firing speaker. Overall it is weighted at 218 Grams with thickness of just 8.8mm which makes it fairly easy to pocketable.

The OPPO Find X5 Pro comes in 2 colors, Ceramic White and Glaze Black, and the color that we are reviewing is the Glaze Black which is a very safe choice of color for any occasions, whether it is for work or just showing off over any social events.

Display & Audio

Over the display portion, the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G comes with a beautiful 6.7 Inch QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED LTPO2 screen that supports HDR10+ and peak brightness of 1300nits. Display is good on with visible color accuracy and contrast level with average bright surrounding environments tested. Other features include a 240Hz touch sampling rate which is an advantage when it comes to the accuracy and sensitivity over the touchscreen when gaming with the phone. On top of that with the density of 525PPI, you will enjoy it with its compact slim factor with good experience. The phone does have dual speakers, one bottom firing and another over the earpiece, which gives full stereo experience and it is fairly loud on most environment and furthermore HD playback is fully supported on Netflix with its Widevine L1 certification and Dolby Atmos support.

Camera

Over to the camera side, the OPPO Find X5 Pro rear camera consists of one 50MP wide camera with multi-directional PDAF and OIS, one 50MP Ultra Wide Angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens, followed by a dual LED flash. On top of that the rear camera can also captures in 10bit color mode. Pictures taken is close to accurate with clarity and details captured well and portrait mode the shots can be easily taken without much of adjustments done to it with a good amount of light. In fact the photo can be taken in very much detailed even under automatic mode all the way without hassle with certain exception that the color might shown a abit softer on certain environment. Night shots outcome are well and good amount of shadows can be seen and identified. The selfie images are bright during day time as well which is powered by a 32MP wide angle lens which also portrait mode and wide angle capable.

Operating system side is run on Android 12 with its new ColorOS 12 that bring several improvement toward UI fluidity, Game Focus Mode, fast app switching and RAM extension up to 7GB as long you have enough internal space remaining. Task app switching between games and apps are able to resume in an instant within seconds without much effort of reloading which is a good thing. Testing over WiFi connection gets up to an average of 1100MBPS transfer speeds, ensuring fast speed for multimedia and streaming. Over to the gaming side, this phone can take it on par with most of the higher range hero phones recently released with good framerate with still some very minor stutter, however this can be resolved with lowering some of the graphic settings to keep games like Call Of Duty to maintain around 60FPS. Flagship games such as Genshin Impact will just work fine with app switching constantly and load times were blazing fast as well.
