Last week, Xiaomi announced 4 models from the Redmi 11 series, which marks their continuation lineup of Redmi affordable series of phone with modest specifications. The new Redmi note 11 series announced are the Redmi note 11, Redmi note 11s, Redmi note 11 pro and Redmi note 11 pro 5G. The Redmi note 11 series is much focus on budget performance with good camera setup for all round usage. Lets go thru the unboxing of the Redmi Note 11 and Note 11s that we have on hand now.

Contents

Both Redmi 11 and Redmi 11s comes in a white color box. Upon unboxing you will get the following as below

  • The phone itself (of course)
  • USB A to C charging cable
  • 33w Fast Charger

Although all of the Redmi Note 11 series does not come with headphone, the phone still has a 3.5mm headphone jack that provide the convenience of the consumers to have a choice of their favorite headphones which is so easy to purchased everywhere. A 33w fast charger with USB cable is still included and highly appreciated with a transparent case.

Color Choices

The Redmi 11 series comes in three colors, Graphite Gray, Twilight Blue and Star Blue. The color that we got for the unboxing is the Graphite Gray. This is a very relatively nice to hold phone with a weight balance of 179 grams, which is common with most smartphone standards considering from the perspective of the build quality, which is perfectly acceptable. The phone has a good coverage of good polycarbonate plastic frame on the overall body on a rectangle candybar design.

The Design, Look and Feel

The Redmi 11 and Redmi 11s weighs at 179 Grams, which is on par with some of the phone weight, and its is fairly easy to hold and use with one hand. It also features a 6.43″ FHD+ AMOLED DotDisplay with 90Hz dynamic refresh rates and brightness peaked up to 1000nits. This means using it under the sunlight or darker room environment is excellent with good overall navigation experience with the device.

Looking at the back of the phone you will spot an island of lenses consisting of the below

Redmi Note 11Redmi Note 11s
50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF
8 MP, f/2.2, 118˚ (ultrawide)
2 MP, f/2.4, (macro)
2 MP, f/2.4, (depth)
108 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (wide), dual pixel PDAF
8 MP, f/2.2, 118˚ (ultrawide)
2 MP, f/2.4, (macro)
2 MP, f/2.4, (depth)

The overall rear camera setup on both model is a combination of most mid ranger phone has, which if you are looking from the hardware perspective, this is a modest combination with most users would take advantage of the capability which also certainly carried some of the qualities from its higher specs range of Xiaomi and Poco phones. Over to the selfie camera side, which is the main display there is one 16MP wide angle camera for the Note 11s and 13MP on the Note 11. All of the camera in the phone is able to capture wide angle images. Specifically over the rear camera you have a choice of video recording up to 1080P resolution at 30FPS.

Performance

Over to the performance side, the Redmi 11 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 Octa Core SOC while the Redmi 11s is powered by the MediaTek helio G96 Octa Core SOC. At Such configuration this is a mid class affordable level processor that ensures it handles the imaging capture and video recording capability with its surrounding competitions with good optimizations over social media apps, eSports and productivity. The 90Hz dynamic refresh rate display will give you the responsiveness you need which optimize compatibilities for major favorite games. On top of that you will also get a pleasant and loud audio experience with its bottom and top firing speaker.

Overall on my few days of impression with both of the Redmi 11 and Redmi 11s, it is a phone that is meant to look for a budget device with a host of photography ability and able to edit certain pictures with color accurate AMOLED display with advantages and optimization from MIUI 13 and Android 11. At this point of writing we still don’t have the pricing yet, but based on the specifications listed, likely it will be priced at less than RM1500. Stay tuned with the full review which we will be publishing it soon.
