Lite and Easy to use Smartphone with flagship features

Introduction

It is been a great start for HONOR over the past several months on the release of the HONOR 50, their flagship phone for this year that is a great Mid Ranger. HONOR now has introduce one of its entry level Smartphone, the HONOR 50 Lite which is meant to be affordable and suitable over many categories of users.

Design & Contents

The HONOR 50 Lite design is built akin to any standard Smartphone that is targeted with the similar price, which from the back of the phone and sides is covered seamlessly with hard built glossy plastic that is very classy looking however due to its glossy design, it is attracted on fingerprints unless you are using a casing that is also came together with the phone. However that said, it is also easy to wipe it away with soft cloth.

As the HONOR 50 Lite is a ‘lite’ version of the HONOR 50, it still retained with most features that is on a flagship phone. Being said, for a budget entry device, you still practically get the whole set to start with and the box content has all you need to get things started, except for the earphone which you can just get it practically everywhere or you can just use any existing ones lying around.

Continuing on the sides, on the right hand side, there is a power button which also functions as a fingerprint scanner followed by the volume rocker, while on the left side there is no buttons or slots. The bottom portion houses the microphone, USB C slot for data/charging, DUAL Micro SIM slot and a single loudspeaker. While it just has a single speaker setup, it is audible enough for everyday use. On the top of the phone you will have a 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone and the speaker for calling functions.

The HONOR 50 Lite comes in two colors, Deep Sea Blue, Midnight Black, and Space Silver which carries the weight of 192 Grams. Personally the weight is a little it over the heavy side but with its equal device body ratio, it is easy to hold and operate with it.

Display

Over to the display side of view, the HONOR 50 Lite is powered by a 6.67 Inch FHD+ LCD screen up to 60Hz. Display is spot on with visible accuracy and average contrast level thanks to the maximum color display up to 16.7 million colors which also fits based on the affordable price factor. While it lacks higher refresh rate display, 60Hz is pretty enough for most day to day operation. Touchscreen response works well especially during scrolling and gaming. On top of that with the density of 391PPI, you will enjoy the best of most contents with acceptable colors when streaming your favorite movies or even scrolling over web pages.

Camera

When it comes to the camera portion, the HONOR 50 Lite rear quad camera consists of one 64MP main camera with wide lens and PDAF, one 8MP ultrawide camera, one 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro lens, followed by a single LED flash. Pictures taken were clear during day with good amount of light and clarity produced on each picture. During night shots, it came out at a subpar level but still be able to represent visible shadows and contrasts that is depending on surrounding situation. The selfie images are bright and good during day time as well which is powered by a 16MP wide angle lens , A few shots were taken over different modes as above and the result works as intended. Performance portion under the hood, the HONOR 50 Lite is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 Octa-Core Processor, 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM. Call quality test shows satisfactory results with a choice of calling via VOLTE or WOWIFI depending on your Telco Carrier however being on the SD662 SOC, it lacks of the 5G modem. Once 3G towers shutting down by end of this year, this device should have no effect on your daily use. The phone does come with 4G connectivity support, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5. Testing over WiFi connection gets up to an average of 425MBPS transfer speeds, ensuring blazing fast speed for multimedia and streaming.

Over to the gaming side, basically this phone will perform well on games such as Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile with low mix medium settings applied and with such good weight balance, gaming is good holding on the phone. Other than that as long you are playing it around eSports title, it should not be an issue.
