One Powerful Fold Device

Back last week, Samsung unveiled 2 models from the Galaxy Z Series. The Z series is known for its different yet innovative way one can utilise the smartphone in the modern world. One of the devices we have on hand now is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 5g comes in a big wide black color box. Upon unboxing you will get the following as below

  • The phone itself
  • USB C to C charging cable
  • SIM Ejector
  • User Manual

No charger or soft case is included in the box, however one can easily obtain a Qualcomm or PD compatible charger that supports 60w and above for optimal fast charging.

Color Choices

The Z Fold3 5G comes in three colors, Phantom Black, Phantom Gold and Phantom Silver. The one that we got for the first impression is the Phantom Black, which is sleek, non fingerprint magnet material all over the sides and back which makes it easy to hold and fold at the same time.

The Design, Look and Feel

The Galaxy ZFold3 5G weighs at a hefty 271 Grams, which is justified as we call it a 2 in 1 device, one can operate it as a normal smartphone while unfolded it is operating as a mini tablet which increases the users productivity (and entertainment too). Usage so far has been a pleasant journey with the device, using it as a phone mode and switching it to the tablet mode has been a seamless handover for most of the applications. Browsing the front of the screen measured at a 6.2 inch Dynamic  AMOLED 2X display, while unfolded over to 7.6 Inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.  Both sides of the screen will run at 120Hz refresh rate.

Looking at the back of the phone you will see 3 cameras at 12 Megapixels, with each of them handling Wide mode, Telephoto, and Ultrawide lens followed by the camera flash. Over to the front you will spot a 10MP camera while unfolded you will spot a 4MP under display camera for all your selfie and video call needs.

Performance

Over to the performance side, the Galaxy ZFold3 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, with 256 or 512GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. Such configuration is definitely needed especially when it comes to multitasking. The 120Hz display will give you the responsiveness you need. On top of that you will get a pleasant and loud audio experience with its bottom and top firing speaker.

Overall on my few days of impression with the Z Fold3, it is a phone that is ultimately suitable for those who wanted a 2 in 1 device. Price point wise, it is only justified on a phone with a tablet pricing, which is still a right price.I will be continuing on experiencing this phone further on an in-depth review coming soon
