Qualcomm Technologies has unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, bringing major performance upgrades, smarter AI capabilities, and next-level user experiences to the premium smartphone segment. The new chipset expands Qualcomm’s top-tier 8-series lineup, giving OEMs and consumers more powerful flagship options.
More Power, Smarter AI
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 introduces enhanced on-device intelligence powered by the Qualcomm AI Engine and upgraded Hexagon NPU, delivering up to 46% better AI performance. The Qualcomm Sensing Hub also enables more intuitive interactions, letting users activate their AI assistant simply by picking up their phone. This improved context awareness allows devices to offer more personalized, seamless assistance throughout the day.
Top-Tier Performance, Reimagined

Built with the custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 reaches peak speeds of up to 3.8 GHz, providing a 36% boost in overall performance and significantly faster web responsiveness. The upgraded Adreno GPU brings an 11% graphics improvement, ensuring smoother visuals, better gaming stability, and more efficient rendering.

According to Chris Patrick, SVP and General Manager of Qualcomm’s Mobile Handset business, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is designed to meet the rising demand for high-end smartphones. “We’ve reimagined our 8-series family to put premium performance in the hands of more users,” he said. “Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 gives people the speed, intelligence, and efficiency to perform at their best.”
The platform will debut in upcoming flagship devices from brands including iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, and Vivo, with launches rolling out in the coming weeks.
