Kingston Technology has once again secured its position as the world’s top third-party SSD supplier, with TrendForce naming the company No. 1 in global channel SSD shipments for 2024. Kingston commanded 36% of worldwide unit shipments, nearly tripling the share of the second-place competitor at 13%.
Despite a 14% year-on-year decline in overall channel SSD shipments—driven by weakened retail demand and notebook SSD attach rates hitting 100%—Kingston strengthened its lead, supported by its extensive global channel network, broad SSD portfolio and long-standing customer support.
TrendForce notes that rising AI adoption in PCs and edge devices is expected to boost demand for high-capacity, high-performance SSDs. Brands with strong technical integration and well-developed channel strategies are positioned to benefit most.
Expanded SSD Lineup in 2024
Kingston grew its SSD portfolio across multiple categories throughout the year, including:
- NV3 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD – high-capacity 4×4 NVMe PCIe performance in a compact client form factor
- DC2000B PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD – data-center boot drive for high-volume rack servers
- XS1000 External SSD (Red Edition) – winner of the 2024 Red Dot Award for Product Design
- Updated Industrial SSD lineup – locked-BOM drives for kiosks, signage, robotics, POS systems and video surveillance
Commitment to Excellence
“We are proud to be recognized as the top SSD supplier once again,” Kingston said in a statement. “Our channel partners and customers have been central to our continued growth, and this achievement reflects the dedication of the entire Kingston team.”
