Ragnarok X: Next Generation (ROXfirst )’s birthday was celebrated by AppGallery with a major two-month festival that featured ongoing promotions and much anticipated events. One of the most popular MMORPGs in Malaysia, ROX allows players to build their own avatars and collaborate with one another to form strong guilds that can help them complete quests. The War of the Chosen S2 Govern Thunder Watch Party event, which takes place at Boathouse in Kuala Lumpur and attracts more than 300 ROX Adventurers, serves as the festival’s high point.
The long-awaited “War of the Chosen” (WOC, 神选之战) Season 2 competition has returned this year and will start on 26 June 2022. This cross-server event, where PC gamers met mobile gamers, allows Adventurers from both platforms to compete in an open tournament against other players. Huawei is the tournament’s main sponsor, awarding 64 Huawei smart device prizes worth over US$60,000 to the top 8 teams in the APAC region.
The WOC watch party is the first time in the 2 years the pandemic that AppGallery has brought gamer interaction offline, giving players a venue to get in touch with their guild mates and create a community outside of the virtual world. This demonstrates Huawei’s dedication to establishing online-offline links between gamers and their favorite games in order to provide an all-scenario experience.
“Gaming through ROX has brought the gamers into a welcoming virtual world, and we want to extend that immersive experience even further, by creating a close-knit community through offline interactions. AppGallery will continue to elevate the gaming experience by adding more exciting campaigns for gamers” said Nick Zhao, Director of Mobile Ecosystem Business Growth, Huawei Malaysia.
“Having been onboarded onto the platform last year, we collaborated with AppGallery to create a fun and welcoming virtual world in ROX, with an added extension of the game into reality by curating various offline activities that allow gamers to enjoy a more immersive experience. Together with Huawei, we are confident in providing ROX players with a better gaming experience in the future,” said ROX.
The party provided gamers with the chance to interact over food and games while immersing themselves in the ROX universe. Highlights of the party included the WOC watch party, riveting performances, interactive station games, and a meet-and-greet with local cosplayers, which was followed by the ROX Music Festival.
The party came to a conclusion with a lucky draw, during which winners received special gifts and Huawei devices.
By including more well-known game titles on its platform and incorporating game elements into HUAWEI Themes for improved ecosystem engagement, AppGallery continues to improve the gaming experience. Gamers can anticipate more physical fan meetup events in addition to more in-app promos and special discounts, which will help them transition from a virtual to a real-life social gaming experience.
